Is there any truth to the notion that Marines are being brainwashed

I have several friends in the military and they always have the same narrative regarding Marines and that is they are brainwashed to put country first from day 1 they start basic training. I've heard countless stories about crazy shyt marines have done such as crying uncontrollably during the anthem and one dude randomly stopping during a road-trip to climb a flag pole to hug the american flag.

I thought about this when I saw this gif earlier and saw the passion in this dudes eyes.

hell yeah they brainwash you. Most people don't normally going into battle just because, it takes "training".

That being said "brainwashing" is a part of the military through and through...also through out history.

Well, not really brainwashed. More like reconditioning the mind. There's a reason they have an age limit for the Marine Corps. It's 26. Anyone older than 26 is determined to be non-brainwashable.... I mean, it is more difficult to recondition their thinking to operate effectively in combat situations.
