shyt like this always come from the mouths of nikkas that never been a hood nikka in they life, ole suburban financially stable since birth ass nikkas. The hood is still the hood in every single big city in america, how, cause nikkas who are still in the hood aint makin more money than they were years ago, nikkas aint gettin jobs easier or none of that shyt. Crime rates are coming down cause a lot of potential hood nikkas families moved to the burbs before they were old enough to be out there.But NY crime rate ain't what it was like in the 90's.Outside of ghetto cities like Baltimore, Detroit and New Orleans, the hood ain't what it used to be in world class cities like NY, DC, LA and SF.
And even those ghetto cities ain't as bad as they used to be.
The griminess of 90's Hip Hop was a reflection of how cutty it was in the hood back then. Today, you have white yuppies, hipsters and trustafarians gentrifying the f#ck outta the hood to the point where it ain't even the hood no more. So trying to revive that raw grimey 90's sh!t really don't make sense when the crime rate in big cities have been dropping to the lowest points in decades.
Thats whats wrong with the culture today. It ain't organic like it used to be. Everything is a damn re-run funded by Nike, Clear Channel, Viacom and Radio One. Niccas in the 90's weren't trying to look, talk and dress exactly like brothers from the 70's wearing afros, bell bottoms and leisure suits or dress like extras from The Mack.Yet 90's babies are so desperate to look like they stepped out of the Back to the Future Delorean from the year 1991 walking into the present.
You lame nikkas dont touch no hoods, yall nikkas aint foolin me bruh. In every single big city in america the bad areas aint got no better than the 90's unless some projects got torn down or some new houses were built. Joey is from the hood, he aint on tracks talking bout massive drug dealing or killing nikkas, he is rapping from the perspective of a broke nikka, which is still the position of 90% of nikkas in the hood. Real life does not give a fukk about you internet fukk boys, nikkas who are still in that life wants to hear nikkas rapping from that perspective, fukk yall dikk handling ass nikkas who want to hear nikkas rap about how much money they got.
