Every time I look at a wikipedia page for an album and see a Pitchfork review for a Hip Hop album the rating is ALWAYS incredibly low. Like giving a Mos Def album a 4.5/10 :rudy:

I even click on the links to confirm, and Pitchfork is INDEED wack as fukk with their reviews.

Why do they shyt on all Hip Hop imaginable? Only the most annoying, hyped up garbage ever.

You know shyt is wack when a Nas album is rated considerably lower than a Rick Ross album. Hell, Rick Ross's album rates EVEN HIGHER than Rakim's Paid in Full. How does that make any sense?

Damian Marley / Nas: Distant Relatives | Album Reviews | Pitchfork

Rick Ross: Rich Forever | Album Reviews | Pitchfork

Eric B. & Rakim: Paid in Full / Follow the Leader | Album Reviews | Pitchfork

They're the white, hipster perspective on hip hop. The cats you hear are "buzzing" on here are the ones who get high ratings.

Pretty much

People like Danny Brown (respect to Danny Brown but white people love him) and Das Racist. You can call it hipster rap music

That's not necessarily true. They also appear to like very obscure rap acts like Aesop Rock. What he says isn't quite clear (sounds like gibberish, really) and he gets great reviews from them. Almost all of his albums have high ratings, and for what? This nikka ain't sayin shyt on most of his tracks :rudy:

They just like him because he's another white rapper and because he's obscure and doesn't really make any sense. Perfect for hipsters.

One thing though is that a lot of the ratings are relative. Distant Relatives for example. Great album, but not what you expect from bob marley's most talented son and one of the greatest rapper's ever. I think a 6/10 is fair.

I agree for the most part though, they're fakkits.

They're the white kids at the lunch table claiming to love rap as they bump KiD CuDi, Theophilus London, Lupe, Wiz and Mac Miller.

uhh..nah..they actually try way too hard to big up hip-hop that isn't "mainstream".

Word. And these faggets on ktt bring up someone's pitchfork score in every argument. They mostly dont know what theyre talking about with hip hop.

Blue Dream & Lean = 5.7
Trap Back = 7.8 (not hating though, album is good)
