Is there anyway to check the number of threads started by particular users?

I constantly see the same posters names under these threads that aren't doing this forum any good and I aint trying to be weeding through every silly thought these people be having everyday. is it possiable to see just how many threads each user has made as a number? Cause fixing the problem in this forum may be as simple as putting posters that exceed a certain amount of daily thread creations on restriction.

as long as it can be done is what matters really.

If you get the time, would you pull those stats up and see if the numbers really jump out

use the ignore feature.. :ld:
i actually do use the ignore feature.

But think about it from a perspective of people looking at this for the forum for the first time. What type of people you think are going to be attracted to the foolish topics at the forefront?

Now i aint saying silence these people completely, but what i am saying is just cause i have 20 thoughts a day doesnt mean i should have the freedom to throw all 20 of them in your face everyday.

we did a thread limit before. it worked alright but at this point i'd rather just take someone's thread creation abilities away instead of saying "you can't make 10 shyt threads a day, but 3 is ok"

what will be the criteria for determining what is shyt or not?

can we get a rating system that tracks the average rating of a users threads?

If we can, is it possiable to set a system up that adds restrictions on users with an average 1-1 1/2 star thread rating (with over 20 threads made)

problem with using criteria like that is it gets opened up to abuse. you get a rep group or whatever who decides they want to get rid of a certain posters ability to make threads so they go around 1 starring everything to skew the results.

right now, the mods and brook and I have to take it upon ourselves to do what we think is best for the forum and decide if what someone is creating for threads brings anything to the table. i personally look for people who make the same threads over and over, or ones who dont put any effort into the threads. as much as people might think the "snitch" button doesnt really do anything, we do take those into account. if we see a certain poster is getting reported all the time then we're more likely to take action. one of our warning actions is for "low quality posting" so the snitch link could be used to report threads that you think suck, rather than only rule violations

as a young and growing forum you get caught up in numbers and activity levels so you dont really mind a bunch of threads but you eventually reach a point where you need to start thinking about quality over quantity and we've definitely reached that point. its just a tricky situation because part of the essence of this board is the loose culture and we dont want to lose that. it makes it even more complicated when the board talks about how much they enjoy "fukkery" then in the next thread complain about all the trolling. my thought process is start at the bottom, either ban or limit the most horrific trolls and see if things improve and go from there.

Apologies to @Say it Wit Ya Chest , I don't feel that my question warrants it's own thread.

@cook If I put mentions into a spoiler, do they still notify the posters? I want to do so for the cleanliness of my posts.

Another one. If people subscribe to a tag, it's the same if they subscribe to a thread right? It's just up to their preference?

Thanks.
