like some people that dont work out, but are as strong as dudes that be in the gym everyday?

also is there such a thing as being weak and strong at the same time? Like people could push you around when you arent exerting energy, but when it comes to using energy you out muscle everyone?

what yall think?

Yea. Lifting weights trains your muscles to do that specific motion. Usually in a slow and controlled way. But that weight room strength doesn't always translate to real life situation strength.

Like when i played ball i was trash at lifting weights. All of my partners had better lifts then me. But when it came to pullups, chain runs, sled drills, anything that we did on the actual field, i would shyt on them cuz i was better at controlling my body.

No such thing as being weak and strong. if you're strong you're strong.

Yes. Strength is small part mass, large part technique. By technique I mean neuro-muscular strength. Depending on how you trained yourself, you can become
freakishly strong at particular tasks. For instance, working at UPS for a number of years gave me back strength and grip/forearm strength I didn't otherwise have,
skateboarding has given me treetrunk legs and a big ass, and I have strength of function.

While powerlifting or lifting for PRs are a thing, a lot of people hit the gym for muscular hypertrophy, which doesn't require pushing one's self to the max regularly.
You can get plenty strong doing repetitive, ordinary things.

Yeah there is.

Like others explained, there's lifting weights for physical appearance and then there's real world strength..

It is possible to do both and have both. That's usually accomplished with Olympic lifts and why Olympic lifts are a staple in most sports.

Also with kettle bells, fireman carries, etc.

People who do manual labor jobs usually have a natural strength that comes from doing that job repeatedly. It's about how well you carry your weight, use leverage, technique, etc

Definitely. There's a big difference b/t functional strength and people who lift for hypertrophy/physique.
A good example is people who do manual labor for years at a time, like a fisherman with muscles like ropes and vice grip hand shakes. But they look average size

The weak/strong thing I think boils down to nutrition and energy levels. There are also times when your body, if put under stress will operate at level higher than normal.
