that chart is just by price, it's a lot of well regarded stuff in the inexpensive tier and some generally hated stuff in the high luxury tiers
if you like an armani, buy it. watch nerds don't like em cause they're made by fossil but imo you should always buy based on your tastes only.
i've never in my life heard someone throw shade on casio
Yes I’m a watch nerd, I admit. I think price goes hand in hand with technology though. For example daily +/- accuracy of a 3230 movement in a Rolex is far higher than anything in the lower tiers, border line in higher tiers too.
Or the Spring Drive movement in a Grand Seiko is better than anything that’s in the lower tiers. But the +/- is far from accurate compared to all Rolex.
But a datograph A Lange is “haute horlogerie” watch is literally miles, MILES ahead of anything below it and it costs a fukking lot.
So the prices are mad “for a reason”. But still unjustifiable IMO. But all those watches will tell the time, just like all cars will get you from A to B. Some will just doing more accurately, more powerfully, more regularly, with more style, etc.
And yeah Casio are OGs in this game. I own and love Casio and owned watches in all categories up to Mid Luxury.
That was a weird comment from him.
