You should never pay $8k/month for ANY apartment.

I don't care if it's Monaco, Manhattan or Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan....if you can comfortably afford $8k AND don't want a house? Just rent a crib for like $2k and invest the rest (or place in a higher yield savings account).

I could understand $8k in nyc tho

Yeah, I know a few people who pay that or even more. In penthouse-level apartments where the concierge remembers every resident’s floor and handles the elevator for them (there’s no elevator button for anyone to press) - but they make the most of their space for networking, entertaining & dinner parties. It’s more of a business move.

This looks like a mess.

It is a nice apartment, $8000 sounds about right for a city like Houston. The decor looks like trash though.

The Apartment is nice, but his interrior design is pretty childish in my opinion. The view looks great too, and the amenaties seem to be decent.

Still, I can't see myself paying $8k a month for an Apartment that is not on the Beach. For that price, I need to wake up and see + hear waves crashing on the sands. Be able to eat breakfast watching the Sun rise over the ocean, or eating dinner and watching the Sun set over the ocean. So it would have to be on the East or West coast beaches.

Yeah… I’d rather be in the Hollywood hills or something

when you spend $8k on an apartment it's purely for clout and clout wise no one is going to be impressed by downtown houston. say you're traveling and where you live comes up in conversation and you say houston, the response is "you like it there? cool." so you've spent 8k and not getting the clout you're looking for. now replace that with manhattan or miami beach and you'll get the clout response you're looking for.
