The greatness of this team has to be viewed in context. DX and Hardys were the most over faces in the company at the time behind Cena, and Punk was cooking in ECW as the top guy

Au contraire. The number of belts in that team , and even as Show was virtually useless by then, he was still moderately feared and over. Kane was still over, although had started to become stale, but Brother of Destruction gave him new heft at that point.

Jericho still had the gravitas of being 1st Undisputed Champion, that people hasn't yet realized was set to christen Golden Shovel. Taker and Rock was untouchable then.
