I'm telling you there are people associated with the image of the modern black person that is negative. You can pretend they don't exist and aren't a prominent factor in our representation but any reasonable person will see otherwise

I disagree. I've rarely read that on here or heard it personally in the context of something thats disparaging to Black people in general terms nor when in the context of an identified problem such as violence in Chicago. When I do see it its typically used in response to someone else trying to speak on behalf of all Black folks.

And there's no shortage of Black leaders and census experts on the Coli who've earned the right to speak on behalf of all Black people no matter the subject.


I'll will concede the way contrarian types come off occasionally at times fit the OP description. That doesn't necessarily mean they don't think their doo-doo don't stink though.
