I'm out here in Tokyo visiting for work. There's tons of hip hop related stores that do a great job of curating and selling old school rap related items. I came across one spot that had tour jackets from the '94 Puff Daddy and the Family Tour and an '80s era Def Jam Records jacket, signed record jackets from Kid and Play & Big Daddy Kane, and these

I don't think I've seen any store like this in NYC, LA, or anywhere in the states.

There's tons of graffiti in certain areas, people dress in "hip hop" streetwear (baggy jeans... no tight shyt), and you hear 80s and 90s random B sides playing

It's kinda sad to see another country preserving our culture better than those who made it. :to:
Japan is ill, I wanna visit Osaka and Kyoto.

Their women are soooooooooooooooooooo nice! :noah:

I think when you think of the elements of hip hop, hell yea. They can't rap for shyt but they love our style for real. Remember walking thru Shibuya and seeing cats b-boy battling and shyt. Was pretty cool. Germany was the same with the breakers and cats blasting their works on trains and stuff but not so much anymore from what my peoples there still tell me. One of my best german homies use to A&R for Def Jam Berlin so I'd get to meet cats when they came thru. To this day one of the weirdest scenes I've ever seen was Inspektah Deck and a couple of Wu cats in some army barracks freestyling

My boy said Osaka was female paradise because it wasn't as close to the military base where most of the Americans are and the Americans just went to Tokyo. But back on topic, Japan hip hop clubs>>>America too. Those broads still dance unlike here. Grinding on a jap broad who you know your fukking later that night :whew:

YASSS, I heard Osaka was low key the city in East Asia right now. And the women are not nearly as uptight I heard. You think run dmc is big still?

Nah, japan ain't late on anything. They've got gadgets over there that we don't have. A lot of the western movies are based on Japanese movies.

The country that invented bukake ain't late on anything.

They just love old school hip hop. Not any of the fakkit shyt our mainstream is playing now.

You should add the following cities to the list:

Shanghai
Rio de Janeiro
London
Paris
Hong Kong

I saw people break dancing all the time in eastern Europe and southeast Asia. Nowadays if you do that sh*t in NYC nikkaz be like :rudy: "Nikka betta get yo dancin' azz to the trap and get this guwop!"

Having been to Japan multiple times, they aren't late on shyt. They hear songs the same time we do and truth be told, they still buy albums and a lot of times artists drop better versions of their albums over there. The thing is the under 35 crowd is very big on classic/underground hop they love that sort of counter culture thing. Guys like Bumpy Knuckles and KRS could make a living just touring in Japan. New guys like Rick Ross and Kanye are very popular too but unlike over here, they don't phase the old stuff out. Plus they B-boy heavy as hell in some of 'ghetto' parts. I mean they still breakdance and DJ and stuff. So short answer, yes Tokyo is at least as hip-hop as NYC maybe more so.
