I dated a chick that lives in Toronto, and I visited her over the holidays this time last year. Here's what I know.
---She grew up near Drake. Took me on a tour of his old stomping grounds. Even the pavement is white, w/o the snow.
---The racial tolerance isnt a myth. Schools celebrate and promote diversity from a very young age, and in a meaningful way. Less hangups.
---Everything seems spread out and not the least bit concentrated. A little bit over here. A little bit over there, but there isnt really an area that you can get loose at. Especially youth oriented.
---Cold as hell. Get used to dealing with the snow.
---Expensive. The real estate market in Toronto is absurd.
---Expensive. Naw, actually everything is a lot more expensive in Toronto because of govt. taxes. Alcohol for instance is almost double what it is here, and the stores that sell alcohol are govt. run. You can just go to a local grocery store and buy liq. When I saw what a handle of Goose costs over there, I damn near fainted.
---immigration. Cant just walk into Canada and say you want to live there. Have you done your homework on visas and the immigration process?
---Poutine. They love that ish. Its basically gravy and cheese curds over french fries. Thats the kind of swag you're dealing with in Toronto.
Overall, it seems like a dope place to visit and eventually settle down and raise a fam. But for a young cat starting out, it doesnt seem oriented to 20 somethings. Just my opinion. That said, Toronto is an impressive city.
