I'm watching some highlights and I only see him taking long threes like Curry. I don't really see anything special in terms of speed, athleticism, passing, etc.

I don't think his release is quick enough. It's not like Curry/Thompson/Korver, so I don't know if that'll work against NBA defenses.

He's not as good finishing around the rim as Curry is, but he's probably a better passer.

Shooting off the dribble is in the vicinity but his off ball work is nowhere near.

the biggest misconception I feel is that he has NO ONE around him. Like there's some guys with decent talent, its just that the offensive system is literally just be fed from Trey's teat. Which is cool when its working, but they dont have any GP when hes off, and hes not a threat on the court off ball....

That’s why he ain’t Curry.. Curry’s off ball game in college allowed him to slide over to the 2 guard and he ate.. coming off screens all day..

I don't see Trae Young ever getting to that level of physicality.
