I don't know : it's "easy" to make (:whoa: I know there is good "trap music" that requires more work, but a lot of it doesn't seem to take a long time to make, plus you don't need samples), lyrics are irrelevant, and it's catchy. Any alternative will involve more work both from the performers and the listeners.

It's really the lowest common denominator in HH, and a lot of it sounds good ("the dumb are mostly intrigued by the drum"). So it could last for a lot longer.

Hypothetically, it would be possible to segregate trap from hip-hop in the same way that Metal was separated from Rock.

That could theoretically open the lane up for "Hip-Hop" to flourish once again.

It would be better if rappers would at least try to get some unique production as a way to set themselves apart from the competition instead of rapping over the same old trap beats. Mad artist are being lost in the sauce because of it. Once the trap sound dies, the artist who exclusively use trap will too.
