Op is on point. Social media is killin it for the older heads. I guess if you're young its apart of the game anyway, but for us older heads the "mystique" is gone from artists. Growing up, thats what made the music great. Artists had "mystique" and weren't nearly as accessible. Say what u want about Eminem, but dude stays out the spotlight. Same with somebody like Adele. All this oversaturation on social media takes away from the music for me. I really dont want to know too much about my fav artists. What i DO know, i want to find out through the actual music

Not at all. It has been instrumental in many social movement from BLM to the Arab Spring.
I agree with that. I'm conflicted because yes it's been a great aid in advocating change and democracy but it's also gave humans a platform to say some of the worst shyt imaginable and has validated attention whoring on a higher level. It also cheapens the way we communicate IMO

Social media also gave a platform for a lot of artists to be seen. Without social media people like Bryson Tiller wouldn't be so far along so quickly. There are advantages and disadvantages

that's exactly what it is to keep it 100

these new artists lose all mystique cause they expose themselves too openly on platforms like Twitter

look at Azealia Banks, her music is very good and she should have a legit career by now but everybody looks at her look like :scusthov: cause of how she acts on Twitter
