It's sloppy business to go back and try to drag this up tho, the brother doing work over at MIT, he already got the respect of the people he needs to

shyt was clear as day when he had Chief Keef apologizing at the height of his career when he didn't give af about nobody, even 50 got dubbed fukkin with Keef. Boi put the apology up for everyone to see on Twitter and never came back to it again
Freddie Gibbs, too. He jumped out the window on Lupe saying he couldn't wait to diss him. Then apologized the next day :mjlol:

Yea but Freddie wasn't stepping to no one in real life :mjlol: he's been a consistent clown

This was Keef right around when all them GBE/O-Block nikkas were really ramping the Chicago violence up :whew: I wish I could a saw the chain reaction of phone calls/text that lead to that apology, you woulda thought Larry Hoover himself called the lil nikka

Idk anything about any of it but I would assume the Chill dude Lupe is always saluting that got snatched is probably a huge figure in Chicago on all levels in the street, so out of respect for him, once they find out that’s Lupe’s right hand, they fall back and show respect.

Lupe mentioned on the podcast with Royce that his brother was a huge figure in one of them gangs out there too for a while, like chief status or something similar. Lupe story is lowkey crazy lol…bro is a borderline genius, a sword expert and a marksman shooter and an alien rapper…a Polymath for real

Lupe being a street nikka is why that link up with Stack Bundles happened and it was natural. If Lupe Fiasco was a nerd Stack wasn't going to be living and working with him all the way in Chicago when he was just starting out as a rapper. :lupe: They were good friends.

He said the "red ones" and all that shyt were "music tracks". :comeon:
He's very fortunate he aint sitting next to Chilly, which makes me believe that Chilly confessed to everything so Lu can go free.

Isn't Chilly getting 25% of everything Lupe makes and is officially Lupe's manager? That would explain why Lupe paying him that much.

I'm sure Chilly would be a lot happier if Lupe took his career seriously and was actually promoting his music and doing press runs for it. Lupe could be 5x to 10x bigger if he put in effort. He could easily chart every time he releases simply based on physical/digital sales to his core fanbase. He should be selling CDs with booklets explaining an interpretation of his lyrics and with some BTS pics and stories of the recording.

Lupe is absolutely street. People forget about how Hov was giving him the major look at the time, even with the feat on the debut album. He probably admired how smooth he was with hiding his true identity. Lupe is an example of what most these self incriminating idiots should do.

Lupe is basically the OG Good Kid in the Mad City. Thats why no matter what Chicago always pays him homage and backs him up. Not only because of the respect his father commanded in the hood but also because of legit street ties he has without ever having joined a gang.

I think thats the heart of the reason why Lu and Kendrick have a weird relationship. Lupe probably looks at Kendrick as the West Coast version of himself and is a little tight that Kendrick didn’t have to deal with the bullshyt from Interscope that Lu dealt with on Atlantic. Difference is that Top Dawg managed to keep his hands clean (or not get caught) during the height of TDE’s ascension while Chilly got locked and it fukked up 1st & 15th’s momentum and without Chilly calling the shots Lupe was at the mercy of Lyor Cohen, who we all know is the devil incarnate for Hip Hop.

Being affiliated with an LA gang was never an issue with the industry. They're Hollwood too. It wasn't like that for other gangs and even getting on as a rapper in Chicago was hard back then.

I don't rate Kendrick's street involvement like I do Lupe's. I don't think Kendikk was pushing drugs in any capacity. I don't think his homies were moving kingpin quantities either.
