So in the Michael K Williams thread it was a big debate on weed being a gateway drug. I know @Rekkapryde and @Ashley Banks was two of the people saying it was but it was many more. And I was one of the people saying it wasn’t and it was a lot of us too.

I will argue to death bout some shyt lol. And I done been in the field and talked to so many dopefiend I was adamant that it was not. But I never asked this specific question.

So I just so happened to see someone that would be perfect to ask, and told them to break it down for me. He basically said weed was a gateway drug. So since I was using talking to real dope fiends as a reason why I thought weed wasn’t a gateway drug, it’s only fair that I post the vid of one saying weed is a gateway drug. I went and got a live account only for it to support the opposite of what I was saying :mjlol:

It can be depending on the person. I dont know any addicts that didn't start with weed.

If your purpose for using is to escape from something psychological or emotional then I would stay away from any drugs (including alcohol) and seek professional therapy or counseling to fix the issue you're are escaping.

If you are the person always getting tore up at a party because you ignore your limits, weed probably isn't a good idea. People ignore their limits and start messing with things they can't handle.

If the way you acquire your substances isn't reliable or they can't tell you where it came from with some precision you may want to leave it alone. Fentanyl the size of 2 salt grains can kill and quality control isn't high on the priority list for dealers.

If the person you buy your smoke from sells other "products" you may want to leave them alone. Smoke has the lowest margin and is the hardest to synthesize or manipulate. Sellers have an incentive to lace a product and get you on something stronger because there is a better margin.

I’m confused…so only a dope fiend is qualified to speak on whether or not it’s a gateway drug?

sounds biased as there are many folks who smoke weed and nothing else who are fit to speak on it as well imo

I don't think weed is a gateway drug, but it is the most readily available. Opportunity and influence is the reason most people end up trying hard drugs. You gotta seek out coke and dope almost like its invite only :manny:

It’s a gateway as in it puts you in circles where other drugs are available. With lowered inhibitions from being high and/or drunk, you may try other things. I just started smoking cannabis last year and my weed man will throw out the fact that he also has lean, xan, and percs. I decline the pills but I fukked around with the drank and I could see how people get addicted to that sh*t.
