I don't think it was that, breh. Remember, Obama came up on the national stage as a senator when he gave that one speech(I forget the event) and was universally well received...at least openly.
Everybody put him in that seat of "future president." He became more important as Bush became more hated. HATED. That mothafukka bush at his lowest of lows...Obama's lows aint touching how
despised Bush was near the end of his second term.
Unfortunately, after Obama came in, everybodies expectations were too high, considering he came into office with what appears to be an engineered economic failure.
It gave racist finger-waggers a reason to say "See? You picked him, live with it." type shyt, like putting Obama in office was a favor to blacks.
Lets not forget Obama is mixed, so he is as much theirs as he is ours. The people who really had hope for the man are now sick of him, and the people who hated him
feel validated.
I don't believe he made it that far with ill intentions on the part of the white people who voted him in, but what this has proven is that while white presidents can
fukk up and be called out on the basis of his failures, the one mixed-race man with dominantly afro-centric features had everything BUT his politics attacked.
Color me naive, but I was blown away at how many white people rallied behind that "Obama was born in Kenya" shyt. You really can't make that kinda mixture of stupidity
and racism up.
