Is Windows 10 worth the upgrade?

Microsoft just keep spamming me with upgrade notifications (on 8.1) and have even got some sly upgrade countdown timer that I constantly have to monitor


I don't know much about it and don't want something that will mess my laptop up


It's been almost a year since it's been released, so there should be a definitive consensus on it at this point.


So is it worth the upgrade or nah?

Personally I wouldn't do it, hell going back to 7 might be better if you really hate 8.

I would suggest personally, you get on OpenSuse 42.1 LEAP

Free upgrade to 10 expires at the end of July. I have it and I like it. You may as well try it and make a backup. Then downgrade if you don't like it.

Then restore from the backup if you change your mind.

I never upgradedI've read too much about 10 sending all your data to microsoft and it being impossible to stop it (you can stop some data but not all of it) untill I see assurances from ms that they removed those features I won't upgrade untill I get a new laptop

Yes. I was weary too, but it's a great OS. I'm glad I made the jump. No problems so far. My VPN even works. It's much better than 8.1

I think it's worth it. You should try it out and see for yourself. You can also revert back to the previous version if you don't.

Was essential for me...the integration into the xbox community has been huge for me, especially the Xbox App. Also in love with the new built in DVR feature for video games. Other than not recording 60fps, its perfect.
