Is withholding information the same as lying?

I think it depends on what you're withholding.
Per the courts omission is not lying.
Per the courts, George Zimmerman wasn't guilty of killing Trayvon Martin.
Not sure I wanna follow the courts, breh

Hmmmm. She ask how ya day went at work and you tell her, but what you don't tell her is the women at work who made you do double takes because they were so fine. She asked how ya day went. Not if you were looking at any women today.Could you give an every day situation where withholding information isn't lying?
Or if ya'll get serious and she ask where your bank at so ya'll can share ya'll finances with each other. You tell her, but what you don't tell her is that you have side account at another bank with serious money in it. She asked where ya bank at. Not how many accounts you got.

I wouldn't consider it lying, but I can see it becoming a slippery slope if you adopt this method of thinking.
