I think the WWE is like cancer because they love to buy out the competitive, however, they are also destroying the entire industry in such a way by giving us crappy story lines. Little Timmy see John Cena as a super hero, brehs... when you were little timmy's age, you thought wrestling is REAL but those days are long gone now that we are old now.

It is over saturated and it is no longer fun any more. The scandals that exists in the industry is disgusting.

What do you think ?

PS: The magic disappears when all of us fans know every spot, every finish, all the backstage politics

Jim makes good points. Mos def the one about it's more people that used to like wresting than they do now. I never looked at it that way before. The only reason I'm back watching is because Kobe got hurt and I changed the channel to Raw.

it will never die, and will remain in the grave state its in to a real mega star comes through and takes foot of popular culture. wwe stars shouldnt have twitter or be allowed to stray too far from their character.

the nostalgia of wwf, is what is keeping me at least checking tsc and youtube. cant speak for everybody.

Its stagnant, probably the most wrestling on tv at one time though.

But its not as popular as it once was so :yeshrug:

Just diversify your wrestling taste and feast

Its not dead but its not like the territories either

Cornette's arguments are always mind numbing because that era of wrestling was gonna go the way of Roller Derby anyway. And while the current scene means that we dont get big territory shows, there's more opportunity for independence and building an audience online.

Basically its gone back to being a niche through the internet which is how most sub cultures are nowadays. Its lucky it has a week like Wrestlemania week and there's international opportunities and ippv, streams and tees to make money though

Pro wrestling is a unique form of niche entertainment that peaked and plateaued on a popularity level. Regardless of the booking and monopolizing of the industry, it got more popular than it was ever expected to in the first place.

It also doesn't help that fans and former fans alike can get most of the nuances of pro wrestling (barring the actual wrestling) from other avenues without the limitations or stigma of being pro wrestling.
