I think this dude was the last gangsta rapper to deliver with his album on a mainstream level.
Meek Mill sells more but his albums mediocre.

Maybe Schoolboy Q too? :ehh:

Or is shyt dead?

This thread was prompted by me knocking a lot of YG today. I also appreciate how his whole sound is VERY unequivocally West Coast :wow:

Meek album mediocre? Breh that shyt was trash!
But yes as far as mainstream goes YG is our last hope. First album was #BLASSIC and I guarantee you 2nd one won't disappoint.

He's the biggest gangsta rapper when it comes to sales. I think... I also had high hopes for him early days when he was spazzing on the first MMG album :wow: his albums been weak though

His second album is fire..

I think he's talking about straight gangbanging rap Breh. Not the drug talk.

Nah I'm talking broadly about gangsta rap. The shyt 50 did well. Ross and Jeezy had their time but ain't putting out anything fresh that I'm excited about.

I never liked Gucci personally or Gotti really
Buggin

Migos got it on lock

Migos > YG

For some reason I don't count Migos as gangsta rap although they are obviously are street dudes. They make turn up music. I can't compare them to classic west, east or even southern gangsta rap legends

Ok you've kind of moved the goal posts and contradicted yourself a few times

You're losing me.. Migos are gangsta rappers/street MCs who's singles could be categorized as "turn up" music much like "who do you love"

Either way.. Migos impact in 3 years > YGs and ain't even close

Without the Jeezy co sign YG would be making "turn up" songs like toot it....

ok then it depends on where you live. Out West im sure people bump YG more than the others. Down South and out East they might like the others better.
