I definitely prefer the Mac Pro design of the "G5" era compared to the new redesign of the Mac Pro today.

If you have the right specs, you can still get some years out of the G5. Hell there is people still using iMacs from 2007-2009 era today and still going strong. Never doubt apple.

Hell yes.
The only major difference from the G5 Mac Pro and the new redesigned Mac Pro is portability.

Here is the verge review of the new Mac Pro. Most of the team found no new reason to upgrade to the new version. They are all keeping their G5's.

You see G5s around still, because they are all custom and rebuilt to be studio machines.

Everywhere
Places I go to still use G5s. They're great machines.

The new Mac Pros are pretty good workstations too but I haven't seen one in person yet.

If you wanted to get one they shouldn't cost no more than $400-$500 these days used probably less.
