It depends what city you're in. It took me forever to start making money. But I'm trash when it comes to studying and I stayed at jobs when I should've left. No regrets though, I had to learn those lessons for myself.

I got 2 interviews Monday
One is a job I really want fingers crossed
One is at the same position but at a different company, but they have a NOC I can move to
Quick Summary:
I started network engineering in January 2016. I had my BSEE, 2 years test engineering experience and my CCNA. I was making 25/hr.
Fast forward to July 2020 I started my current job making 140k. In between I got my CCNP and learned Python/Ansible.

How long did it take you to be proficient in Python?
Honestly, I ain't that proficient at python
I'm ok at python in a networking sense i.e. dicts, lists, APIs but when it comes to real development I'm some trash.
It took me like 3 months. I read Python Crash Course 2nd Edition and did Kirk Byers free Python for Network Engineers class.

Missed the interview for desktop support
Told the recruiter I had to work but they said today was the only day
So I was going to take my break early
This bytch kept me on the phone asking me over and over how to copy files from the shared drive to the home drive
Called the recruiters and let them know
It's probably a bust at this point
Job may have not been for me
And honestly they should have tried to accommodate my schedule
But im pissed because I hated that bytch
And she was making easy shyt complicated
Kept me 15 minutes over 3pm
