Any experiences good or bad on these control panels ...or better alternatives?

:jbhmm:
Setting up a monitored, load balanced, Apache2 cluster on Google Cloud.
Deciding between Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and 20.04 LTS(playing with win server 2016) ...along with which "Control panels" to use.
  • Virtualmin(webmin) - webmin is the most used control panel. Virtualmin throws extra functionality on top of webmin. I think it's the same company.
  • CentOS Web Panel - has everything I need far as I can see(leaning towards this right now)
  • Cockpit Project - Bundled with Ubuntu 18.04 and above ...so I know it'll run fine out the gate.

NOTE:
After looking over these control panels it looks like they setup alot of the things I was doing manually so far. Already spent half the weekend trying to get php5.6(old but required for old software) to work before I realized Ubuntu 16.04 wouldn't work with the repository needed to setup php5.6. Briefly switched over to a windows server 2016 image(considerably more expensive given windows license) before I realized the issue.

While I've spent years in IT; sever setup & administration wasn't my role. I'm a software guy but have done pretty much everything else under the sun in IT before striking out on my own. Working from home now hence the question.

Not to mention it's a nice change of pace to discus something different on coli than the norm:ehh:
