It could take anywhere from 70 to 120 years to close Latino–White gaps on average. But the comparable number for closing BlackWhite gaps is 120 to 320

Our finding that Latino residents are making relatively faster progress toward parity than their Black counterparts is consistent with other research.11 For example, McKinsey research found that Latino enrollment is helping to drive the shift toward greater representation of students of color at US colleges and universities.12 Latinos also are more likely than Black residents to have personal or family histories of immigration, and it is well established that the children of immigrants experience higher upward mobility than US-born children.13 As a result of these trends, a child born today might live to see Latino–White disparities—but not Black–White disparities—closed across some community profiles.

Latinos have higher economic mobility than FBA. This is why this POC shyt is so stupid. We need to orient our politics to look out for FBA/ADOS interest above all else. That does not mean we have to make enemies but we do need to put ourselves first.

I haven't read the article yet, but whites are about to inherit $60-$80 trillion in wealth. I wonder if they factored that into their analysis.

By blindly voting for Joe so he can ignore us for 4 more years and let in another 7-10 million Latinos so we can go from 2nd place to 4th place (behind whites, asians, and hispanics in the order):krs:

america is unsupportive and hostile to black people coming up. look at how now there is a whole movement to get rid of black pilots. if amerikkka treated black people as good as it treat white people then these "gap" problems wouldnt exist.

Trump will flatten the economic mobility equation push us back even further.

Right!!!

I read this book recently

It spoke about how Trump tried to destroy anything to do with diversity in all sectors.

He tried to weaken anti discrimination laws, make it harder for Black folks to get mortgages and bank loans, etc.

Really good book.

"Labor laws, public education, civil rights, DEI, healthcare reform etc etc" are policies needing money.
How do we control our narrative and fund the development of policies to protect ourselves and maintain our rights as a group if we don't have any money, educated people, and people in position to get them off the ground and stay on top of things?

We not being ungrateful wanting more for ourselves with what this country provides.

Vote democrat, but have an economy built by people who look like you for people who look like you like other people do for added support outside of the infrastructure of the system. That don't mean dissociating from issues facing every American, it's having a well-vested stake in maintaining your rights as an American. It takes money, education and dedication. Other groups do this. Have more options within your group, an economy and strong community. If democrats or republicans start backpedaling on laws with legal precedent, there should be community-supported lawyers and entities willing to oppose them to maintain your rights on multiple levels.
