I love the golden era just as much as any other hip hop fan. But somewhere along the lines you stuck in the 90s nigggas took the fun out of it by trashing everything that doesn't sound like that era. So much to the point you took away people appreciating that era, specifically the kids, in fear that some
nikka gone come out of left field claiming that you aren't anything compared to the 90s nikkas. This happened all throughout the 00s. People trying to appreciate the ground set for them (Kanye, Jeezy, TI, 50 etc) but trying to push forward at the same time. And they couldn't do that without criticism. So what happened was they said fukk it and we gone do our own thing and y'all gone have to live with it. Which is how all these young nikkas were raised
Its even funny now when I hear about all these rappers who are coming up that will supposedly be gone once their 15 minutes is up. I specifically heard this about the Migos, and now look what happened.
Point of this is to say instead of worrying about someone's 15 minutes, or how much time they got left, pay attention. Because you gotta accept that those type of rappers are no longer sideshow acts that purists get to pick on without repercussions. This is the sound . This IS HIP HOP NOW. These aren't kids who will be here one year and gone the next. This is the direction of the culture. These are staples in the game. Not people who will have a hit and walk away.
And y'all did it to yourselves.
Also, If we're keeping it 100, the roles have reversed. Before y'all was going in on how fast these other rappers would be here and gone, and now the "lyrical miracle" rappers are now the 15 minute nikkas
Long gone are the days where you don't have to put in any work as an artist, spit a hot 16 and get a deal. And thank god for that. I can't handle anymore battle rappers pretending that they are recording artists.
We need people to push the genre forward sonically.
All you old heads had to do was teach, and all y'all did was berate and hate. And now y'all die
Now go take that bubble bath to some 90s Classic and cry about the times you'll never ever relive

Only thing cool about the 90s right now are the nigggas who were born in em
