It's wild that with a cast of this many characters, almost all of them are written very strong... The writing overall has been excellent episode to episode

Alright I have a few questions, spoilers for The Shinning and Doctor Sleep books and movies.
I know in the book dikk Hallorann doesn't die on the Shinning, so how does he die?
In the movies the Overlook Hotel feeds on people that shine/have steam or whatever. If this is so how does dikk Hallorann work there for many years and not have the evil try to take him over?
I'm asking these questions because he's my favorite character on this show so far. I don't know where they'll go with his character if anywhere. To me it seems dumb for him to go through all this, and the Overlook Hotel to get axed by a screaming drunk. I guess when it's your time to go it's your time to go

i kinda quit paying attention to the show after the fourth episode... but i got them all torrented. guess im gonna watch the most recent two when i get home and try to catch up. it felt like it was getting a lil better episode before last so ill give it another chance. show aint that great so far though. hoping it gets more intense once we actually see pennywise (last thing i remember was around when the kids developed the photos).
at least its something new to watch i guess. but the show is kinda butt cheeks so far
