Why do people say this? If I recall correctly, this nikka had a max contract and his knees were shot, yet he still attempted to play and get back on the court whenever he could. If he didn't care, he would've just said fukk it and stayed on his couch eating McDonald's all day.

Ehh that's being a little disingenuous, he's one of the rare highschool project bigs that ever turned himself into something. Even if short lived. The injuries seemed to rob him of that drive, but at one point he really did work on developing his game
