i had a theory that the style of play youre talking about is actually much better for a smaller player than traditionally bigger players. that 6'2-6'3 range because of how much quicker smaller players are, much tighter and more precise movements, players are a lot more unguardable. what made players like jordan deadly was the quickness to create separation and jordan himself was only 6'4 without shoes on. we just havent had a lot of players that size with that kind of skill set to exploit that level of gap in quickness smaller players can create. a lot of this comes from a smaller player historically being restricted in his role. iverson complained about the sixers trying to force him into a role of who he wasnt when he came into the league. they wanted a john stockton. a lot of smaller players get marginalized before they even realize they can be that kind of player.... look at the most exlposive scorers right now in this era... many are small men... curry, lillard, rose, irving, westbrook.... jordan went third in the 84 draft because it was thought you needed to have a big man to win at that time... look at it now and the game is shifting over to a smaller first option scorer...
