It's Almost Mid Jan and The Reasons for Owning a System For Current Gen Titles are Looking Scarce

Both systems have 1st party exclusives coming this year all things shaking out like they are suppose too.

Sony with

Ratchet, Horzion and GOW5, Returnal,


Microsoft with

Flight Sim, Crossfire X, Halo Infinite, Tunic, Second Extinction, The Medium, and Stalker 2


Currently if you bought a next gen systems because of exclusives you probably starving


Hopefully whatever system you fought to get you took into account your backlog or lack there of, because until about march that's what everyone on both sides will probably be playing.

Between Cyberpunk and Black Ops Cold War, I see no reason to lose sleep trying to get a PS5. I probably wont get one until the summer, if even then cuz it's a drought.

I think regardless of what you play it's going to be another good year overall for gamers. Just this year you'll either have to grab gamepass or purchase a couple MS 1st party titles unlike pervious years for a lot of folks.

Overall this thread more about people running out to get new systems, some paying twice the price, for exclusives and now sitting around waiting for stuff to drop.

I don't completely agree depending on how much you game, and how much free time you have.

being able to load up these systems and play instantly as well as not spending 2-3 mins on loading screen ends up netting you much more playtime in session. At one point a hour of play time wasn't almost worth it for me by the time the system boots up the game boots up then the save file loads it was 5-8 mins easily. Then you add in loading as you going through the game and my hour of play times turns in more like 30-45 mins depending on the game.


In that sense it's huge, along with a lot of the upscaling of last gen games.


But a lot of people on this forum pretty much stick to main exclusives and popular games, in which case you are 100 percent right.

We're at a point now where a lot of current gen games look and perform like shyt on current gen.

I just played crash 4 and it was on my base PS4. Seen nikkas playing on PS5 and that shyt looked gorgeous.

So I think it's time to get next gen when you can. Cyberpunk was just the tip of the iceberg. About to be a rude awakening for nikkas if they still rocking current gen in 2022.

I feel like the PS4 pro happened just because of the benefits to attempt to push for 4K and 60 FPS.
What could Sony add for a PS5 pro that it would make sense producing it?
Personally I feel like the PS5 slim would be more appealing then a pro model.
