It's amazing how some of these Republicans can just disengage from everything

I'm talking about the working class and the poor many of them whites. They straight up can't see that our government exist by rich people for rich people and that if you're middle class or less you basically exist as an economic slave to those rich people and not much else and when you're no longer useful to them they dispose of you.

You get saddled up with debt because things like houses and cars are unaffordable to such class people without taking on debt and from there you're stuck working your adult life to pay off the debt. They really don't wanna give you health insurance. You get sick and you aren't rich you basically die or face financial ruin. Stay sick too long and become unable to work and your corporate owners will likely drop your coverage and force you to go on COBRA at costs that are almost unaffordable to people on disability or workers comp.

These same people living in trailers and driving cars with 7+ year payment plans were the same people putting Trump Pence signs in their yard come election in 16. They're the same people shouting fake news not and talking about Trump is trying to do something for "us" while he pads the pockets of the rich and snatches insurance coverage from people with pre-existing conditions. They ignore the rampant corruption in his administration (how does Scott Pruitt still have a job?) while they shouted about Hillary's emails. They tune out the trade war that will likely cost a lot of them their jobs with all these tariffs.

TLDR how can some of these white folks simply be told through propaganda what to think and feel by republicans and just accept it like that? Can't they see what's going on out here? It's happening right in front of them.

Your speaking facts but as long as they're white speaking that shyt against others & pro-americana that's what they gravitate to, not realizing that they being conned... a white man in power is more important than they're welfare and the country's future. they usually get buyers remorse after all the bad shyt happens. and even then most of them wont admit to being brainwashed and hoodwinked.

Look at Sam Seder talking about the Republican propaganda machine.

Hannity called this woman's platform frightening. Millions of poor, middle class, and old people watch this garbage and just accept what they're told with no thought or analysis.

My Republican roommate tries to equate Dems using the reconciliation rule to pass healthcare to Rethugs using it to pass that tax cut.

:stopitslime: So bypassing rules to give people healthcare options so they don't die is the same as passing a tax cut you know won't create jobs?

Republican responsibility politics is just them blaming others for their own failings and if they succeed it's somehow they did it all by themselves.

They always been that way. When we were enslaved, the majority of white people in this country were dumb illiterate and jobless. Rich white men didn't hire them because of free labor.

When the time came to abolish slavery, poor white people fought against it. Even though slavery was the reason they were jobless.

They rather cut their wrist to see someone slit our throat. Because they're miserable people.

If black people were included in the New deal the civil rights movement would have never happened. Once we start fighting for our civil rights. White people(boomers) starting voting against everything that made the 1950's so great for them. Because they rather see us miserable than live in peace.

Now they wanted to make America like the 1950's for themselves again instead they are going to make it 1930s and prior.

Most poor people don't vote, and majority of GOP voters are working class and middle class. They also reside in areas don't have out of control rent issues like San Fran and NYC.

It's a basic tenant of capitalism, that you hate the person beneath you, because you envy and respect the people above you, and use financial success as what to judge someone's worth by. In that system, by definition, empathy and concern for those less fortunate, or even yourself, will always lose out to the basic appeal to human's selfishness, that they too, would abuse the poor, if they were able to. They do it in their own ways, to assert they're class status, whether they realize it or not.

That's why people

Demean servers and service industry people
Endorse "fiscal conservatism" policies that are against self interest, but hurt others beneath them
Read self help books from millionaires about how to be successful
Embrace garbage like "The Secret"

Yeah but at some point people have to acknowledge reality. Most of these people are one crisis away from total financial ruin. This system holds them in that spot and they only vote for people that propagate that system. If the poor and middle class united and voted in people dedicated to making their lives better it could happen. Many of the problems we face would cease to exist.

That's just it. I'm sure people in power, know and fear this. The day poor whites realize they have more in common with everyone else is the day, super rich and elite people grow fearful and consider making changes to the status quo.

Funny thing is, I've chopped it up with a few off people from old school money and even they're pondering how far inequity will exacerbate before the government needs to step in.

Because they believe they will eventually make it, not realizing the competition has increased. They were sold a flawed story as to what is necessary to obtain success, and so alot of moral grandstanding has always been apart of the ethos. But when the tangible wants and needs are not met despite the ethos, they lash out and you get Trump. They think he will bring back a lifestyle they were going to likely lose anyway. It's not simply Republicans, American's in general have irrational optimism with regards to the future.
