That man was Marshawn Lynch with his whole "african" references in the days leading up to the Super Bowl.. For a couple of weeks here on The Coli it seemed like "black pride" had shot thru the roof. You had cats pledging to give up referring to each other as "n!ggers" in exchange for the more uplifting "african". You had cats talkin bout supporting black owned businesses and even goin to buy african pendants like the one Marshawn was rocking.
This got me to thinking, wat if these rappers(whose 10X more influential to the youth overall than Marshawn) started rapping and carrying themselves in a more positive manner? What if they stopped referring to black women as "b1tches" &"h0es" and called them "queens" instead? What if they started rapping about peace among ourselves and the value of an education/trade? What if they started shouting out the names of current black businesses and name brands instead of these white/european ones? What if they rapped about black pride instead of black genocide by the hands of blacks.
Maybe its wishful thinking on my part but i 100% believe that say if a Lil Wayne would start promoting positivity, that the youth not only in New Orleans would want to follow suit but also kids throughout America. Obviously, im not saying if rappers did this that our problems would go away but i do think it would be a tremendous help. These rappers have the platform and influence to help change the black community for the better and they dont even realize it:mjcry:

Like people of all races, we too far for sensationalism. He pulled off something trendy and it lived based off the fame of the person who said it. On to the next trend. Let's not forget the patriotism following 9/11, freedom fries, and all that dumb shyt.

Low attention spans dominate popular culture, unless it manages to transform youth perception. Ask the mothafukka that coined the term "thot." I still don't know how that caught on. Chief Keef wack ass:scust:
