that's the problem. it keeps happening even though every year people keep saying they want net neutrality.
they're trying to wear people down until people stop trying to stop them and they pass whatever they want.

It comes up every year because there is no iron clad law that enforces Net Neutrality in the USA. It's a policy that can be overturned at the whim of the ruling party.
Right now the Chairman of the FCC is in favor of the Net Neutrality. We have a conservative Supreme Court.
Obama and his administration did decided keep Net Neutrality, we need laws, not policy. The Internet needs to be regulated and treated as a public good. Not a utility.
Ever since Trump appointed that Indian dude as the new head of the FCC, they've been more active than they've ever been at the repeal of net neturality.
I guarantee the ISPs like Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast are heavily lobbying the FCC to push the repeal sooner than later

they are wearing people down to have the exact apathetic reaction you are having right now, that's why it gets brought up every year and if people don't push it back every time it will be game over
I think that's why they wanna try to end net neutrality around this time (Thanksgiving) on the low when people are distracted and worn down from caring so much and absorbing so much information on the topic.
