This morning, she said that Black men should be proud that we are represented by a powerful black man as President, then when I brought up black people she turned right around and said we should have knew they weren't going to let him do anything for blacks. I brought up that he has signed bills for other groups especially gays and she said those bills were already in the process under Bush(with no proof of this). So I put a wild card out there and compared Sandy Hook and Charleston, I mentioned Amazing Grace and crying. She went on to babble about how black churches love the song Amazing Grace and that they've changed it so much that it doesn't matter who wrote the song because it means something different to black people now. I asked why did he sing in Charleston and cry in Sandy hook and he responds was "I'm a teacher and I interact different with kids that are rednecks compared to black children that grow up in a single parent house hold" she said it's all about how you relate to people.

Also, I told he I wasn't voting and she hit me with the "NOT VOTING DOESN'T CHANGE ANYTHING LINE"

How did black people become so fukked up.

It's hard to talk to anyone that is a super fan or someone unless you share that same bias. Their minds are already made up.

It's hard to talk to people who confuse cynicism with knowledge and on top of that are dismissive and arrogant about that.

maybe the reason its hard talking to a obama supporter is because u urself arent all that bright. when dumb people try to act smart around smart people, they end up rambling, as is evident in your post. cant make heads or tails out of what u just said. learn to formulate a gadamn coherent sentence.

Lol back in 08 I was working with intellectually disabled clients in the inner city and it was spooky how closely their political opinions mirrored "normal" people's opinions. According to them we had to vote for obama because the republicans were going to "have us back in slavery", "set us back 100 years", other hyperbolic nonsense they picked up from others.

I'd imagine it would be the exact opposite in white neighborhoods. We treat elections like sports in this country. People declare undying allegiance to one party or the other and create nonsense reasons to support this blind loyalty with the help of partisan news outlets.

Its just like talking to a cowboys fan about why they suck and they come back armed with a laundry list of skip bayless' talking points, while the people who really run things control both parties with "donations".

I forgot who said it but a quote comes to mind "The best argument against democracy bis a 10 min conversation with the average voter"

Too many of these people can't take out their emotions from the discussion so any dialogue with them won't yield shyt :aicmon:

Black ppl want Obama to do stuff for us but can't explain exactly what it is and how it can be done.

This is why politicians rarely cater to us. We need to have concrete realistic policies to advocate for.
