It was probably Wales cornball swag that had them A&Rs fooled, they thought he was so soft and corny that they only marketed him to non-urban markets

I agree to an extent, I haven't listened to the album but 'Lotus Flower Bomb' & 'Ambition' & 'That Way' are solid. Wale is probably the best musician on that label

better than ross?...eh. i have to disagree, though wale is probably the most talented musician. there's a difference. ross is the better artist. wale is the better writer, though ross is a damn good writer himself (assuming no one is writing for him).
