I wouldn't say its impossible but this country does make it very difficult to better yourself if you start out in a fukked up situation.

Someone asked me my opinion
I said it depends on the situation and assuming we are talking U.S poor and not 3rd world country poor, it really on a case by case basis but IMO a single no children having, mentally/physically healthy adult in the US should be able to save some money
Adding kids and other things add complexity to the situation and really boils to down to how much sacrifice there willing to make. Again havin children is a huge factor on what sacrifices can be made

If I have 3200 to pay people and min wage is 8 bucks an hour (plus benefits means 10/hr) I get 320 hours of labor. 4 full time workers.
If min wage goes up to 12 then I have to pay em 16 after benefits and I only get 200 hours of labor. Either people get fired or everyone gets less hours.

Rich people pay taxes too. I'm a student I don't own a business, just trying to open your eyes to another perspective of why things are the way they are.
And there can only be so many ppl at the top. You gotta take advantage of the system to work in your family's favor.

That list is easier said than done. By the time you hit November your saving over 100 a month. Yea it sounds good but there are millions of Americans that can't afford to do that.. I always tell people just put 20 away no matter what each week. As soon as you hit 500 start a Roth IRA and add to it weekly.Anything is possible, you need some income but anyone can start small
