It's 'not possible' for the King to catch the GOAT, according to Wade.

Dwyane Wade explains why LeBron James can never surpass Michael Jordan

Maybe Dwyane Wade is just trying to light a fire under one of his best friends. How else to explain the Chicago Bulls guard's recent comments aboutLeBron James?

When Wade was asked whether LeBron can ever catch Michael Jordan, the ghost that James claims he's chasing, Wade was rather blunt.

Via ESPN.com:

"No, it's not possible," Wade told ESPN with a laugh. "It's not possible." [...]

"You can't go past it," Wade said of Jordan's legacy. "How can you? That's as great as it gets, man. The only thing you can do, like I said, is be A-1, A-B. There's no way higher."

Let the games begin :lolbron:

He's wrong.
People always think that greatness can't be exceeded until it is.

Will Lebron surpass Jordan? Maybe not.
But to say it's impossible?
That's retarded.

We just had 20 years of people saying 72 wins could never be exceeded, until it was.
Unlikelihood and impossibility are different.

I get what you are saying but to surpass Jordan is an opinion that may never change....Lebron could win 7 titles but people will say Jordan never lost in the finals and he didn't team up with Bosh and Wade type of players......
whereas winning 73 games versus winning 72 is something that can't really be debated when you are talking about pure numbers....

Perspectives change over time.
You're right. Something concrete like breaking a record is not debatable. Opinions are.

It's funny how "not losing" is somehow the standard now.
Like, okay...Jordan was 6-0 in the Finals. Yeah but he wasn't 6-0 in every other playoff series. He held L's before. And to Lebron's credit...he pointed out (fairly, I might add) that it's not like Jordan won those rings by himself. A lot of other guys hit big shots and made big defensive stops and passes that allowed him to go 6-0.

Eli Manning is 2-0 in Super Bowls.
Marino is 0-1.
Elway is 2-3.
Kelly is 0-4.

You know what I mean?

I know how the coli functions because they'll come in here and yap about Jordan this and Lebron that.

But my post isn't to trash Jordan or raise Lebron.
My point is that to immediately close the door on the possibility of Lebron's ceiling of greatness being under Jordan is just....I think that's insane.

I agree with you about never saying impossible to overcome something, but Lebron will not be the one to do it! He has had some very notable shortcomings in his career to ever be compared to MJ. Some little kid out there though could be practicing his game as we speak to be the one to usurp Jordan.
