It's OK to promote violence if you are a good rapper.

Is this truly a statement y'all believe?

I mean I see Threads with Drill rappers all the time and y'all usually say things like they are poisoning the black community and the entire city of Chicago deserves to be bombed(I'm not even going to get into how a statement like that is)

But it seems like the sentiment on here is that as long as you rap good( or frankly, reside in the Tri-State area) the violence you say in your music has no real effect on the youth that choice to listen to it, yet somehow the worse you rap, the more effect you have on people with your violent music?

All I'm saying is, if you truly believe that violent music negatively effects it's listeners, is it not hypocritical to give a pass to other rappers simply because you actually enjoy their music?

If you're going to bring up the violence and drug selling lyrics in hip-hop when it comes to artist from Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles etc, don't conveniently leave out those lyrics from the 90's artists y'all Stan who reside on the east coast

Most people who listen to rap aren't out killing people and committing crime. And there are plenty of people with nothing to do with rap who are violent and crazy AF.

If you're going to promote violence, at least be good at it. @ getting in your feelings because drill rap is terrible.

It's about the excuses being made for east coast rappers when it comes to violent rap lyrics.

If violent rap lyrics don't effect the youth, fine, but I don't wanna see anymore of that shyt being brought up in non-east coast rapper threads.

I disagree with the reasoning but we know many are on/in that frame of mind when they act like there is a big leap content rise from let's say late mid 90s Biggie or late 90's jay z and and some of the more commercial shyt that came up from the South like Cash Money
