It's virtually impossible to truly "cancel" a musician/comedian.

Music & standup are the two places where it's relatively easy to get and maintain "fukk you" status.
Nobody can stop an artist from doing local shows across the country. All those local comedy/music clubs are individually owned ....and locally at that. Hell that's why folks like Corey Holcomb, lil Boosie, Tariq, etc ain't going nowhere.

At most the highend endorsements, movies, ect could end but it's relatively impossible to stop an artist making money. shyt these days you could skip the middle man promoters, rent out venues yourself, and pocket the cash.

:ehh:
shyt lets take it all the way there ...they been trying to take Dr. Umar out the paint for yeeeeears and can't cause of independent local venues tied with social media.
Shout out to Boosie pleading for his gram back tho:yeshrug: ....that "Zuckerburger" line always kills:mjlol:

As an artist doing local shows when you are making millions is the worst also if you are cancelled cancelled restaurants and other small venues may not want you to play.

Above the fray.
The dirtbag racist louis ck has crawled out of his hole to do comedy dates again......and in each city there are protests.

Some groups have short memories/attention spans so you can just wait out until they forget what you did/said......others keep the heat on your ass forever.

My question is, How come these artists don't just do their own events? How hard would be? I imagine you just need to hire people and get some sort of permit with the city.

As someone who has 15 years of coordinating concerts and show production, this is a severe over simplification of the process.

Money for supporting acts, promotion, insurance, booking the venue. Food and drinks. Setting up the sound system. I guess there is also the matter of getting clearance to perform certain songs.

Think about how challenging a party is. Then consider the difficulties you would face trying to arrange an event with thousands in a different state.

As for the topic, it is relative. You can't just say "They can make money elsewhere" when the loss in income means they cannot meet their short term liabilities.

I imagine this is why they want them wasting their money on crap. If they limited their expenses and saved money, they wouldn't really have to downsize, they would just have less income to use for investments.

Do virtual gigs with donations

go where people want you setup your own website with your own domain name self merch

but if you want to stay mainstream you can’t say shyt.

Well then you create your own venue.

Thats what kevonstage started doing ...he had a video where he broke down the math and found that the cost of having managers to book dates and shows out striped it's usefulness. Put simply he found that he could make more money doing smaller shows if he did all the management and venue renting/promo himself.

:ehh:
This isn't the video but it is the tour he did himself.
(often folks wait for white people to make shows then try and get booked as an act on them)

(TIME STAMPED FOR CONVIENIANCE)

What would be even better is if these rappers got together. Then they'd really sell:ohhh:
