Bruh, the people who play League of Legends (shutins) ONLY PLAY LEAGUE OF LEGENDS. That's cool that you feel some kind of kindred spirits with all the other "Legends" of their perspective Leagues
They been doing it longer, they get less attention from the opposite sex. I'm not knocking they have joined together.
I'm saying, who gives a shyt. If there was a 2K tourney, it probably wouldn't have as many people watching. You know why?
Because cool people who end up with all the fame and p*ssy don't give a shyt about some nerd tourney
Just uttering the name "League of Legends" means you lost. That's some clown ass shyt. That's like saying "Yo, I caught them all in Pokemon"
Consoles just don't have the right eco-system to constantly pull off large-scale tournaments since it's usually a one time purchase of the game and then a season pass. PC games usually give you a bunch of aesthetic options like skins and mounts and shyt that people are constantly buying(esp if the game is free or cheap). Consoles it just feels like you're buying one game to play until the next big one drops(which isn't bad but it doesn't lend itself to creating a long-term competitive community, and isn't an issue exclusive to consoles either)
Fighting games really the only console games that have consistent tourneys. SFV has multiple tournaments throughout the year, with varying prize pools from $50,000 to well over $250k. FGC players that can consistently place Top 3 can make some nice money via tournament winnings.
Super Smash Bros. Melee is still played to this day on Gamecube and usually competes with SF games for top viewership during events like Evo. You'll always see a smaller Smash Bros. tournament poppin' off on Twitch too. The prize pool for Smash games isn't too hefty though, but the community really does try and make something out of nothing so they get respect from me for that.
Otherwise no other console games besides CoD really do tournaments. Just not enough money in them unless you create an in-game economy like CSGO, League, and DOTA where the proceeds can go towards bigger prize pools. It's why Capcom was able to bump up the prize pool for the Cpacom Cup last year. They dropped the Pro Tour DLC and put the money to their own hosted tournament.
I used to love Halo but Reach killed my love for it, and the way MLG handled competitive Reach pretty much ensured I'd never care about them again, but a part of me IS happy they got a chance to really rock.
So let me get this straight, consoles, which has the largest gaming community as a whole (most software is sold on consoles by FAR) cannot establishg a foothold into esports because you didn't like Halo Reach
That's not what you said, and yet that's exactly what you are saying. Console games are becoming more and more popular.
They are catching up to PC in terms of the ways people view gaming. Twitch as a PC thing, now consoles have that shyt built into it.
So its only natural as the numbers pick up for viewing console games via twitch/beam/etc. Then the interest in console titles raises, and so will the prize pools. You champions acting as if its supposed to be the domininate force in esports right out the gate is assinine, assiten, assileven & assitwelve
@GoldenGlove streams almost every damn night, so does @Mighty healthy. Akademik did, I could go on but the point has been made. You dudes just need to have patience and VISION...
Please don't get me confused with the average sony gamer who cannot handle conversations and routinely goes "I did not read"
You dudes operate on a lower level, and like some immagrints stick together
That is very true... on PlayStation
You would say that because your system of choice, comes out with games YOU HYPE UP, then the flop.
Uncharted 4, why isn't that game being played by YOU? All I hear is people talk about Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3 MURDERED UC2 online. But most of you skipped that, and I watched as 90% of you spent little to no time online with Uncharted 4.
So by default you have to say nobody gives a shyt about console esports. Sony this entire gen lacks online games worth playing outside of 3rd party multiplats (Tru Story) If nobody wants to play Killzone, why would there be a esports tourney for that game?
(You still wanna talk shyt about Halo 5, Gears 4 by dude?)
I'm about to hop on a game and Beam that joint, if you wanna comment? Get at me...

Are you dumb breh? I simply stated that I was a fan of Halo, and that the way a competitive league handled Reach killed my fandom, but it's cool to see Halo out here making some noise again. I'm sitting here and giving them props for what they did just recently after having a few bad years of competitive seasons. I didn't say Reach failed cause I ain't like it. The fukk did you pick that up from? "You didn't say it but that's exactly what you said." What kind of female logic is that?
You asked what other console games have big prize pools like that, and the answer is none really, and that's just because most console games are more focused on selling units and they aren't caking off micro-transactions like other games that do have large prize pools consistently. It's not to pit one against the other, it's just stating how the bigger esports games are operating now. If consoles wanna move the most units and put out sequels every year that's cool. Keep doing that, that's not an issue at all.
You claiming you made a point but your post missed entirely everything I said. I even gave examples of console games being able to raise extra money(and surprise, it's by taking extra money made by selling aesthetic items and funneling it into the prize pool).
If Activision created an eco-system the way Valve has where consumers put money in, but can't get money back out without use of a third-party, imagine how much crazier that $1million dollar CoD tournament could be?? I'm not saying this shyt to big up or shyt on PC's or consoles either way. I'm saying nikkas should be taking note of what is working and apply it to their situations.
So halo isn't one of the top console games used for esports? If the answer is yes then what you have to do is change your stance. You are thinking from a 2013 mindstate. I'm a console gamer, I fully understand the feeling of fukk all this bullshyt. But you are aware more and more people are getting into esports. It's not dwindling, its growing. So you are incorrect sir, people do care. More people than ever before

You start off by saying am I dumb. No, no I am not. You then went on to talk about how pc is ahead of consoles with tourneys. Nobody was debating that, What you did do was expose your flawed logic. I could now call you stupid but you're not stupid. Just not as smart as I am
What you said about transactions does help, but console gamers have lives. The pc gamers who game for 12hrs a day, doesnt. Console games that do well in esports are fighters and fps. Thanks for speaking the obvious I guess you forgot about actual SPORTS games but I'll let you act like you're speaking down to someone
What you don't understand is the console esports movement is growing at a rate that makes you an idiot. You don't see the growth and that's cool. The average person never does...

So the goal is to evolve in life. You see that nikka use the term "evolve" because this virgin is a professional Pokemon trainer
How a nikka gonna talk about evolve in life, then talks GLOWINGLY about league of fukkin legends You evolved alright...
Into a faq
@Grand Conde see what I'm talking about. Your man can't even properly draw the letter L
