In the Mil I have had my fair share of positive dealings with deaf men and women... so far all I have self taught myself is the alphabet some family signs some food signs and that's about it. I would def jump at the opportunity at learning ASL.

Yo I was just thinking about this last week
I had a hip hop show I put on last Sunday and I had someone come to me and said their room mate wanted to come but said she doubt that we’d have an interpreter.
I was likeI don’t even think truly know anyone deaf or who knows ASL.
That’s dope bro bro if anything you could always lend out your skill to poorer kids around the way
Yeah man. I been wanting to learn for years but never really thought to take it seriously until recently. Here I was trying to learn programming languages when I could make similar or close money learning sign language. And it's a lot of fun. I'm doing it with my gf and now we can have our own coded language when we want to be discreet. Plus I think of deaf people and how hard and lonely it must be going through life and I wanna be the answer to that. We really take our hearing and senses in general for granted. The deaf community is very overlooked.
Good money and good demand. It's government supported. You can do translating for a lot of businesses that are required to provide the service such as hospitals. One downside is if you have to translate for a racist who will purposely do things like say the n word just so you have to translate it.
