I'm thinking of going with the topic of how athletes should have to stay in school a minimum amount of time before being able to enter the pros. So far its alright but all of you are pretty unique with ideas so do you have any other interesting topics in mind.. THAT'LL BE EASY to write

It really depends on your teacher. If he's one of those a$$holes that is going to grade you based on how much he agrees with you, regurgitate something he has already talked about this year and he'll say "hey, this makes sense :obama:"

Since your teacher is involved in education, an essay arguing that players should have to spend more time in school will probably go over well. I personally don't agree with it but it's probably a safe topic.

Ive got a few reasons just off the top of my head

1.) time for kids to mature, be ready for the money that is about to be given to them and (I'd say in all cases no matter your draft number) the fame that is going to be given to them

2.) it protects teams somewhat, for every KG and lebron theres a Kwame Brown lurking

3.) Theres a reason the NFL doesnt allow straight out of highschool kids into the league, theyre not physically ready for the game and in a lot of case not ready for the mental load that comes with schemes & playbooks.

I'm going to be speaking on sports in general, mostly the NBA & NFL ( baseball is weird to me with how they draft kids straight outta hs but they dont see playing time for 5 years)

This topic isnt as EASY as you think it is and in fact you may be arguing the harder position. Its going to be difficult to compare the NBA to the NFL because the reason players cant jump into the pros from high school really is saving their lives. There is no way anybody would condone putting an 18 year old (sheit I graduated high school at 17) out there with 25 year fully developed NFL conditioned grown men. It would be to the point that teams wouldnt even draft any player straight out of high school. The NBA doesnt have that same argument, basketball isn't a physical sport and with the D-league, players have somewhere they can develop if drafted by a team and arent capable to jump straight to the pros. SAme with baseball.

If you stick to this topic IMO it'll boil down to how much your teacher knows about the topic or even sports in general.

you could be a maniac trying to convince your teacher that scientology is the be all end all. as long as you pick a side, and argue the shyt out of it, you'll be alright
