Did they update the infrastructure to keep people from going down from the heat?
Mogadishu is pretty safe. I was out and about at night. There’s a lot of checkpoints. Is Mogadishu safe nowadays? Or do you still need convoys and escorts to move around?
The package from Somalia, are they putting you in tents or in hotels? I imagine it being cheaper is about the relative distance as well as the purchasing disparity between Somalia and the United States.
What were the Nigerians behaving like out there![]()
How was the heat? Hope you stayed cool
A Haaji now. Completed one of the pillars of Islam in its entirety. Which feels surreal to say.So are you now an official muslim?
And congrats.
WasalamSalam Allekum, Habibi.
I think it was better than last year.
I have to give the Saudis credit. They had an army of people on the routes handing out water, spraying people with water and keeping people moving.
They also made it forbidden for people to go to the Jamarat at certain hours due to the heat.
There were less pilgrims this year (1.6M) because right before Hajj they restricted all visas from the biggest Muslim countries / populations (think Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Nigeria, etc) so people wouldn’t be there for work or otherwise and try to do Hajj. They turned away like 300,000 people trying to do Hajj unregistered. The Nusuk app process also is pretty stringent.
Haven’t worn my jeans in a couple weeks. I now gotta tighten my belt cause I’ve definitely lost some weight.Man sounds like a good workout as well
