I've noticed the older you get, the harder it is

To keep up with friends and family. When i was younger i used to hate visiting family in florida and in MD. I thought it was a waste of time

But i turned 22 earlier this year and i can't even visit family if i wanted to. I moved 4 hrs away from my hometown for school and im going out of state for military training for 2 months. By the time i get back the fall semester will have started and ill be hella busy again. This time next year ill get my first military assignment and they'll send me across the country somewhere.

Fcked up part about it is my sister is 3 yrs older than me. We were never really close but she cant even see a nikka when i have a couple weeks offshe knows im going to the NE part of the US for this job training and she still cant "make time" to see a nikka. Damn

Getting older is bittersweet. When i was the dude flipping the $5 sign at little caesars in my hometown i swore i needed a comeup. Upgraded to delivering pizzas for a while after flipping the sign for my whole shift. Got my first "adult" job and i had to move. Got a 1 bedroom apartment in midtown.

Try to savor ya moments, because time flies, dont it?

Yeah, I only see family like twice a year myself. My mom expects to keep in constant contact or else she gets offended but by the time I get off work, hit the gym, cook and study for these classes I take for my job...a nikka tired lol. Barely got time for myself.

She also wants me to use more of my vacation days to come home but I can't. I need me time.

Real shyt. Haven't seen my dads side of the family since before I was a teenager. Haven't talked to my dad in months. I call on holidays and birthdays but I'm not making the effort anymore.

Actually if you don't make dumb decisions in my personal experience it has gotten easier. While I agree that it's busier I have more I can talk to my parents about today naturally than I did 10 years ago when I was 20.
