I hear him layering the hook if nothing else. Nate had a great voice. He definitely wrote this song too, thats his style.

Its Nate but it sounds like they either took a WIP track or background layers only because he multitracked all of this tones and this isn't his usual density.

Either that or this could've been a bridge that was repurposed into a hook and sprinkled through the song remade around what they had.

Sounds like for some reason they left out his signature bass and baritone.
