29 isnโt too old to KEEP grinding as a rapper, hoping to gain some momentum and an organic fanbase. You may not become Drake, but you can become a Devin The Dude type rapper with enough content and a good understanding of your demographic.
But 29 is definitely too old to START from scratch as a rapper, with zero industry connections and no skills at beat making. Nobody is gonna put money behind and bet on an unknown 29 year old

Dope interview but I thought it was weird how Cole spent so much time reassuring Yachty that he's good, he should be respected etc and then after a few minutes Yachty gets into some "so yea, why do you think new rap music sucks and these artists don't take it seriously." nikka that's what we think about YOU lol.

Cole so thoughtful. I like the analogy of rappers to track & field athletes. Yachty is intelligent and very much self aware. I appreciate that he takes his craft seriously and tries to do his homework on previous greats. I think he pays too much attention to the naysayers though. His intentions are in good faith but his skills arenโt up to par. Not saying he trash but when youโre rapping next to one the greatest rappers ever youโre going to pale in comparison. It takes REAL talent to be a great emcee
