J Cole Talks About Not Landing On MTV's Hottest MC's List...

MTV caused quite a stir with hip-hop fans with the release of its controversial “Hottest MCs in the Game” list. One MC who some believe should have made the cut was J. Cole. But the Roc Nation rapper is not sweating it.


During an interview with DJ Drama, Cole sounded off on his exclusion.

“Somebody’s gonna die,” he joked before getting serious. “I don’t know, but I don’t really give a fukk. It is what it is. Think about it, from what they say, it’s the past year, I’ve had a quiet year.”

However, he still believed that he deserved a spot in the top 10. “I should be on there,” he said, while adding, “I don’t give a fukk, DJ Drama. They’re fukking dead, and I’m gonna kill them.”

He agreed with a lot of the other MCs that made the list including 2 Chainz and Drake, but didn’t want to give the creators any extra shine.

“We shouldn’t talk about this anymore. They want this. fukk these guys,” said Cole, who didn’t understand the logic behind the list.

“Future doesn’t even give a fukk about Kanye,” he said. “They don’t even interrupt each others’ lives and they’re not competing on the same level.”

Cole is currently putting the finishing touches on his sophomore album and a joint project with MTV’s newly-crowned “Hottest MC” Kendrick Lamar.

Does anyone understand the list though? Cole should've been on the list last year for some reason he wasn't even among the 25 considered which contained rappers like Jada, 50 and Jim Jones.

But he's not done anything for the past year besides last month were he dropped a Lil EP and a warm up single or whatever. At this point he's actually below 50.

You can't get "hot" in the game anymore SOLO. You have to play nice with your peers. He's part of that "anti-social" rapper list.

You know the one that has 50 cent....and a few other rappers that I can't think of right now.
