Pretty sure Cole moved the album up so that he doesn't compete directly with Wale. They would've dropped on the same day, they are good friends, Wale announced his date first so Cole just looked out and moved his date up a week.

Cole fans/stans are loyal as fukk though.

His debut album didn't have that much buzz and he was getting clowned hard for not knowing if Jay was going to get his verse in in time and that nikka surprised everybody with his first week numbers.

I think he's doing this due to the fact that there'll be people in stores to cop Ye's joint and may cop his shyt too. The people that were going to buy it on the 25th were going to cop it regardless. This is just gettin' a piece of the traffic that will be coppin' from Kanye's release

Cole has nothing to lose and everything to gain by pushing his album up the same week, even if there isn't a sales competition like there was in 50 vs Kanye, it gets people to talk about Cole's album too
