Dilla will win this one off nostalgia and his death alone. But, that aside, I'm still gonna give it to him because he was more influential.

I don't even like Madlib like that (still like him though), but his sampling is better (I definitely agree with that)

Dilla..madlib is super boring,,Dilla can chop samples as good as Primo, Daft Punk, Diamond D and Jel from Anticon..the things those people can do with samplers other producers can't do

Dilla was better at sample chops and arguably more diverse.

But Lib had the hotter discography and his vibe was just more my thing.

Lib also blew Dilla's shyt out the water on Champion Sound.

Both top 10 status though.

I still rock Donuts by James Yancey and all of his joints, but man madlib you can tell have deeper crates,,, Madlib find those obscure, hard to find, deep digging in the crates jazz samples.

cant choose. both in the top 10 and they are masters of their own lanes

had dilla lived he would be on a pharrell level of success, maybe more, he could crossover and not sell out. he was just hitting his stride too, his potential was ridiculous. :rip: taken too soon

but madlib :banderas: easily the most talented producer of all time. not the most successful but has legit timeless hip hop CLASSICS under his belt. and im pretty sure he's the most prolific music producer EVER (no numbers or proof but someone prove me wrong :yeshrug:)

again cant choose, 2 legends.

ok madlib :lolbron:

Madlib would say Dilla , Dilla would say Madlib.

Dilla's beats touch souls, Madlib has a better discography

I kinda agree, except my final answer might be different. I can't even call it. I do think that Dilla's later career was heavily influenced by Madlib, Donuts being a great example. I think they both influenced each other a lot, and it sounds so corny, but I have a hard time thinking of one and not the other. I wish Madlib got some more props from mainstream media now. Someone mentioned this on the Booth recently (it may have been you) but they said that we got Dilla in the history books, and that we have an opportunity to do that with Madlib now, while he's still here.
