So in retrospect, the prime culprit for Ja rule's "image" was Ja rule himself. He earned the R&b, thug- rapper stigma because his sound was so "overexposed".

And a lil over 10 years later we have Kid Ink, Ty Dolla Sign, and Tee Flii etc using the Ja Rule template..
